Then there are the types used for sales or marketing purposes, where your behaviour can be used to market back to you when you visit other places online. I do not use any retargeting marketing.
There are three different types of Cookies:
Session Cookies – these are mainly used by online shops as they allow you to keep items in your basket when your shopping online. These expire when the website closes.
Permanent Cookies – these remain active, even when you have closed your browser down. The law stipulates that these need to be deleted after a period of 6 months.
Third-Party Cookies – these are installed by Third Party companies with the aim of collecting user insights i.e. behaviours, demographics, site visits. I use Google Analytics and this is used to track your use of this website and to compile

How do I delete Cookies or Erase them?

Block Cookies – You can choose to block a website’s cookies and to do this you would need to configure your internet browser to categorically refuse all the cookies that try and install on your computer. You need to be careful with this option because even though it means you will no longer be remembered, it can often cause problems with you accessing websites at all and having any kind of online experience with a site, so keep this in mind.
